Why did you join?
I was a young mom, living in a small town and wanted to get out of the house and give back to my community so it would be a great community for my children to grow. I started by helping at the  Community Christmas party and later created many new initiatives to raise money for our community. It became so much more! Through volunteering, I found lifelong friends and discovered a passion for organizing local events that brought neighbors together. Being involved not only enriched my own life but also helped strengthen the bonds within our community.

What has been Kin Canada’s greatest impact on you?
Kin Canada’s values of Family, Work, and Kin have had a major influence on me, supporting my personal growth from age 22 onward. Although balancing priorities was sometimes difficult, the Association and its members consistently encouraged and mentored me, helping me become who I am today. Ultimately, Kin remains one of the most important parts of my life.

What is next for me?
I’ve held top roles in Kin and now focus on mentoring new members. I enjoy seeing them take on responsibilities and develop their leadership skills.
